The HAPTEX system is an interactive textile simulation providing haptic feedback to the user.Being based on physical laws, its goal is to give an impression of the feel of the real material. Future application is seen in online trade of textiles or garments. This thesis documents the employed techniques and performs measurements to assess the performance of the system in an objective way. Special focus is set on the approach of adaptively splitting the textile into two parts that are simulated with different temporal and spatial resolutions.
