The triangulation of parametrized surfaces is a difficult and important step towards FEM calculations and visualization of the surface. Therefore the triangles have to fulfill certain constraints.
The difficulty lies in creating the triangles in parametric space, such that the mapped triangles on the (curved) surface offer the desired qualities. For further quality improvements, a Laplace smoothing can be applied to the triangles vertices.
